Originally from Jodhpur in Rajasthan, Girvar Singh (GK to friends) first came to Kutch in 1998 and fell in love with the unspoilt beauty of this area. Kutch and Rajasthan are very similar in terms of landscape, climate, history and culture, but Kutch is less well known among mainstream tourists.
For GK it was like stepping back in time to old Rajasthan.
He was so impressed that he made the decision to make Kutch his second home, eventually moving his horses to a farm near Bhuj and establishing the first horse safari in Greater Rann of Kutch, offering visitors a chance to escape the tourist trail of Rajasthan for a more authentic experience
In addition to a lifetime of experience with Marwari horses, GK also holds an MA in History from Jodhpur University.
He has meticulously planned and researched the safari routes, ensuring visitors get to see the very best the area has to offer; landscapes, wildlife, forts, palaces, heritage and cultural events.
GK personally accompanies each ride to ensure that every aspect of the ride is delivered to the highest standard and utmost satisfaction of his guests.
As to the quality of the horses, GK’s family have been breeding Marwari’s for more than 500 years, so you can be assured your steed will be of the highest quality.
In fact, the family were granted their land and titles as a direct result of the quality of horses his ancestors bred. You can read the full story
